Bond Grrl icon Hypnotherapy Episodes - Duh…

Monday, April 21st, 2008

SO.  This weekend, I edited, matched podsafe music to, etc. etc. the 3 hypnotherapy episodes that Susan Bird wrote particularly for you as a member of my audience.

Susan is a fan of my book (and one of my personal experts), and came up with the idea of doing the inductions to introduce a wider range of people to hypnotherapy. We got together to work on the actual “visuals” for the inductions, then she wrote them, and came up to my studio to record them. Then, I fixed’em up.

I was working on them quite a bit this weekend — pretty much both days. Sue had done a number of versions of each induction, so I had to listen through to each intro, body, end, etc. — and then pick the ones that seemed to work the best for me. So - duh - this means I listened to hypnosis inductions for about 16 hours, give or take, over the past couple says.

I am LOOPY today. I feel very calm, comfortable, but… um… let’s just say I really should not be “using heavy machinery.” I actually drove to meet a client at a coffee shop this morning, and drove right past the exit with a little drifting “ah… yeah… um… that’s the exit… going by… going right on by…” feeling.

I’m back home now. Better stay off the road for a while!

Bond Grrl icon If You Use iTunes… Please Re-Subscribe!

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Sorry about this, folks…but we had to move the podcasts over to a new server, and the only finicky feed seems to be iTunes. If you are using iTunes, you’ll unfortunately need to unsubscribe, go back to the iTunes Store, and re-subscribe, then click on “Get All” because it seems as if the past 6 or so shows have gone into iTunes Ether.

Thanks All!

Bond Grrl icon Podcast Alley… Here We Come

Monday, April 7th, 2008

So, today I am sitting in very un-Bond-Girl-ish fashion with Stuff covering the dining room table. Wow! It’s Stuff I want to podcast about, Stuff I need to read for my law practice, Stuff that I have just been making little piles of around the house. (My poor James.)

One of the thangs I had to do was registered my podcast on Podcast Alley. Now, I have to remember to go have folks vote on it. (I’m lucky I remember to put in my email address and Listener Call-in Line… let’s see how THIS goes!) The only issue I have is that there really isn’t a great Heading for my podcast. I stuck it under Health, but that’s not really right. Society? Naw… Kids and Family? Um, no… Well, if you have any ideas and are a Podcast Alley person, Comment and let me know!

So, the instructions say “Post this code on your blog, and presto chango all magic will happen.” Well, maybe not in those exact words. But the following is the code they gave me to paste here, so here we go:

My Podcast Alley feed! {pca-fc383477edaec478c87fac3145b563b3}

Was it good for you?

(Not sure what all the letters are after the link above, but I posted EXACTLY what they gave me — so let’s see if Magic Happens now)

Bond Grrl icon Dr. Jill Taylor video

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

I had a profound reaction to watching this video. It is 18-minutes, and is an astonishing glimpse into the magic and danger of left/right brain function. Dr. Jill Taylor is a neuro-anatomist who specialized in brains because her brother is schizophrenic.

I am completing a podcast interview with Eve Abbott, the Organizer Extraordinaire from ABrainNewWayToWork.com. She sent me this link after our interview, and it really is amazing. Do set out enough time to watch it. It starts a bit slowly, but you will be totally glued to the screen at the end, waiting to hear “what happened next.”

This is the description from the hosting website:

This is an absolute must-watch. Set aside 18 minutes and prepare to be floored. Consensus among TED’sters is that this may be the most memorable and important TED Talk ever. It was certainly the most talked-about presentation among those at TED2008. Enjoy and share with others. And let Jill’s experience inspire, motivate, and change the way you look at life.  http://www.microclesia.com/?p=320   I guarantee you will be rewarded by investing 18 minutes on this video of Dr. Jill Taylor presenting at the TED conference.

Bond Grrl icon The inCREDible squeaking chair!!

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

I just finished Podcast 8, and am editing it a bit… and holy cats, I have the squeakiest chair!!

I do know what’s up with this. My James had to borrow our studio set-up, because he’s working from home and had a conference call.  This means he gets to sit at the fancy schmancy setup (with headphones and all), since, hey, he’s making $ and I’m making… a podcast :-) The beauty of our setup, though, is that I can take my laptop, another set of headphones, and head into another room (the breakfast room), and just keep going.

(We all know what it’s like when we finally start something — we want to keep at it, and not quit. Because we were gone on holiday for a bit over a week, I am behind on podcasting, and wanted to get the track laid down today.)

So, I’m in the breakfast room  I’m on a wicker chair. Say no more, right? Yeah. What a doofus! You can hear the chair quietly creaking the entire time.  (There is also one point where my dog sneezes.  See if you can catch it.)

What the heck… I’m not going to do it over, but I thought I’d letcha know that the squeaky, creaky sound is NOT my bones and joints (I deal in the podcast with starting up my exercise regime again, so that is not so far fetched) — it be the chair.

Bond Grrl icon Podcast Episode 1: References

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

SOME day, these podcasts are going to load into iTunes! I’m not sure what’s going wrong — frustrating!
That said, I’m going to list the references that go along with the episodes here… so that once they are working, this will be done :-)

Obviously, the number one reference in the podcast is my book, fEmpowerment: A Guide to Unleashing Your Inner Bond Girl. The link to purchase the book in a manner that gets me the “most dough” is through the homepage on BeABondGirl.com — hey, I’m a shameless capitalist :-) This link goes directly to the on-demand publishing house that my publisher used, so there is none of the “50% discounting” that goes on when you sell a book through a bookstore (online or regular retail).

If you have Amazon.com credits, of course, be my guest and get it on Amazon :-) I only get 23 cents this way as the author — but I’d rather you have the book and if Amazon is the way — it’s the way!

If you go to the Resources for the book on the Home page of BeABondGirl.com and click through on any of the books, you will be through a “portal” where you can then search for the book… and I get another 2 cents since I’m an “Amazon Associate.” Yeah Yeah — Shameless, Shameless, Shameless!!!!!

The links to the other websites that I reference in Episode One are listed under Resources on the main BeABondGirl.com website, but I will also note them here:

MotivationToMove.com
FitnessRocks.org
BehindTheBarShow.com

Thanks for reading!
